The Reader View is optimized for following spoken text rather than reproducing every visual detail of the original PDF layout.
Can it read scanned PDFs?
The reader currently works with PDFs that already contain selectable text. OCR for image-only and scanned PDF files is planned for a future update, so support for photographed pages, archived scans, and other non-selectable documents will be unlocked later. Stay tuned.
Can I convert a PDF to MP3 or an audiobook?
Yes. Open your PDF in the Reader, choose an AI voice and speed, then use Download at the right side of the audio player to save the full spoken document as an MP3. Structured audiobook creation with chapters will be added in a future update. Stay tuned.
Is my PDF private?
Your original PDF is parsed in your browser and is not uploaded as a file. Extracted document data and reading progress are stored locally on the current device. Only the block of text requested for playback is sent through our server to the cloud text-to-speech provider to create the audio you hear.
Which AI voices and languages are available?
There are 15 voices covering 13 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Hindi, Russian, Arabic, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Thai. A suitable default is selected from the detected document language, and you can change it at any time.
