I love read aloud
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information I love read aloud handles when you use the browser-based reader.
Documents and browser storage
Files you choose from your device are read in your browser rather than uploaded to our server as files. Extracted text, document titles, selected voice, playback speed, and reading progress may be saved locally in your browser so recent documents can reopen on the same device.
When you open a public web or document link, our server temporarily fetches that public resource so your browser can prepare it for reading. The fetched resource is not added to server-side document storage or cached by this service.
You can remove locally saved reader data by clearing this site's browser storage. Clearing browser data may also remove your saved reading progress and recent documents.
Text sent for speech generation
When you press play or download an MP3, the text needed for that audio request, along with your selected voice and speed, is sent through our server to the cloud text-to-speech provider. We use that request only to generate the audio you asked for.
We do not use your documents or pasted text to train our own AI models. Avoid entering highly sensitive information unless you are comfortable sending the requested text to a cloud speech provider for audio generation.
Usage and security information
To operate the free listening allowance and protect the service from abuse, we process a browser-generated anonymous identifier and basic network information such as an IP address. We use this information for rate limiting, security, and service reliability.
We do not require an account to use the reader, and we do not sell your personal information.
Sharing and retention
We share speech-request text only with the cloud speech provider required to make the audio. We may also use service providers that help us operate infrastructure and prevent abuse. Those providers may process information only as needed to provide their services.
Local reader data remains in your browser until you delete it. Rate-limiting records are retained only for the period needed to enforce the relevant usage limit and maintain security.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the reader evolves or applicable requirements change. The latest version will always appear on this page with its updated date.
